Mary Jo worked in the business world for over 20 years before deciding to tap into her artistic side. Her journey began in 2005 where she had the good fortune to find a mentor in George Kyle, Chairman of the Art Department at Irvine Valley College. He encouraged her to study with several accomplished artists and to strive to find her voice.

Early in her career, Mary Jo found a passion for painting objects that bring back a special memory and strike an emotional chord in her. She grew up in Hamilton, Ohio in a home filled with antiques and paintings brought to America by her German father who immigrated to America in 1927 at age 16. Her mother, an avid gardener and rose lover, instilled in her a love of flowers. You'll find many floral and antique treasures in her still kife paintings.
